Linda Bednarz, Dave Lennox and Bill Bednarz

It was a journey that began with a boy unloading coal in North Dakota, but it is one that has taken William A. Bednarz to the ownership of Kelly Heating in Iowa City. The next big destination in William's journey?  Retirement!  So he says... but that won't be any time soon for this familiar Iowa City business.

Bill was born in Rugby, North Dakota, and attended North Dakota State University.   He and his wife Linda have two children, Renee and Ryan.  Bill started working in Iowa City in 1972 as owner of Hawkeye Refrigeration.  He subsequently purchased Kelly Heating and Air Conditioning.

Kelly Heating reached a milestone when it built a new larger building in 1995.   There Bill carries a full line of heating and air conditioning products.

Bill's philosophy in his work and his life? "Do the best you can."  It has stood him -- and Kelly Heating's customers -- in good stead!

Circle Of Excellence Award

Kelly Heating and Air Conditioning received the Circle of Excellence Award from Lennox Industries, an international heating and air conditioning equipment manufacturer.

David Robertson, Lennox' Regional Manager, presented the award for the North Central Regional area to William and Linda Bednarz, owners of Kelly Heating, during a recent ceremony in Cancun.

The Circle of Excellence Award, presented annually, recognizes Lennox dealerships for outstanding accomplishments in areas such as sales performance, company growth, successful advertising and promotional campaigns, and effective business planning.

"Earning the Circle of Excellence award emphasizes Kelly Heating's progress as a leading marketer of residential comfort systems," said Bob Schjerven, president of Lennox Industries.

Established in 1932, Kelly Heating employs 30 employees and services Iowa City, Cedar Rapids and surrounding areas.

A worldwide leader in home comfort, Lennox Industries markets its air conditioning and heating products through a network of more than 6,500 North American dealers.
